Jupiter DAO
Work in progress! Updates to DAO 2.0 coming soon! Read here to find out more.
Jupiter DAO grants are for those who have begun working on something in the DAO, which they feel ready to take to the next level and pursue a workgroup. We are looking for hard workers who embrace execution & iteration over perfection.
โ๏ธ How It Works
1. Start Working and Find Allies
Find what the Jupiverse needs and spearhead it in a direction. For inspiration, consult resources like the C.A.R.E Essay, community bounties, or the Jup & Juice Case Study. Remember โ perfect is the enemy of the good. Lo-fi & experimentation will trump high quality but hesitancy every time.
2. Work with the DAO to Grow Together
The DAO is here to support you through various resources:
- Mentorship sessions with the CWG
- CWG Office Hours (Mondays at 16:00 UTC)
- Jup & Juice participation
- Consulting other workgroups
- Community feedback engagement
3. Request a Grant
Once you feel ready to scale things up, apply for a grant on the platform. You'll hear back within ~7 days if there's interest. Accepted applicants should track their progress for the retrospective.
Apply for a Grant
Applications are open globally and processed through Superteam Earn. Average response time is approximately 1 week.
Apply on Superteam Earn โRepresenting the Community Voice
Grants are to scout talent within the DAO and to give people an opportunity to show what they bring to the table. These grants serve as a stepping stone for individuals to demonstrate their skills in a meaningful way.
The Catdets community currently holds 2 of the 6 Grants votes to decentralize decision-making and amplify community voices, while 3 votes are held by the CWG and 1 vote is held by the CAWG. These votes are currently delegated to the CoCs. For the votes controlled by the CoCs, 1 vote is awarded on 50% approval and the other is awarded on 75% approval of any grant proposal.
How It Works
1. Grant Proposals
When we receive grant proposals, they are carefully documented and shared with CoCs for review.
2. Discussion Period
CoCs can discuss proposals in the Thunderdome channel before the formal voting begins. This ensures thorough consideration and community input.
3. Voting
Using our voting tool, CoCs cast their votes to help guide CAWG's final decisions.
Why It Matters
- Community Alignment: Ensures grants align with community needs and values
- Diverse Perspectives: Brings multiple viewpoints into the decision-making process
- Transparent Governance: Creates clear accountability in grant allocation
